Yes, its a dublin. But your father never smoked a pipe like this. Its scope is familiar but its size is not. Bigger than a nose warmer but smaller than a breadbox, this little devil is almost as if a sheet of paper was rolled into a cone and then kinked at 80 degrees to make a pipe (if you have ever done this, keep it to yourself). The angles are solid and the heel is perfect. Even the rim, with a portion of plateau, bevel, and additional ridge on the backside, has to be studied for a few moments to soak in all the subtlety of form.
