A-Gui Pipes: The Vision of Su Wugui
Su Wugui, born in 1985 in Hunan, China, is the creative force behind A-Gui Pipes. A graduate of the Public Art Department at the China Academy of Art, Su initially built his career in sculpture and installation art. In 2012, he turned his artistic expertise to pipe making, founding the "1g Mountain" pipe studio in 2014 in Hangzhou.
Su’s sculptural background is evident in his work, where he blends the precision of craftsmanship with the imagination of three-dimensional design. His pipes stand out for their unique forms and artistic expression, making them both functional and collectible.
Su’s talent has been widely recognized. He won the "Best Production Award" and "Best Creativity Award" at the 2018 China · Chengde International Pipe Art Exhibition and earned the "Special Gold Award" at the 1st Zhanjiang Manual Pipe Invitation Exhibition in 2019. His work has also been showcased internationally, including at the 2019 Chicago Pipe Show.
