Rainer Barbi
CC Apple
About the maker:
Rainer Barbi is almost entirely self-taught, and had no direct contact with the Copenhagen school of pipemaking. Yet he reached the same conclusions about the technology of pipe making: the engineering, choice of materials and tooling, finishing methods etc. He is also equally scrupulous in his quality of execution. Barbi is a student of classical pipe shapes, capable of turning out stunning renditions thereof. Each Barbi pipe is made with the most precise engineering and the finishes are breathtaking.
Each Barbi pipe is stamped with one of the following grades, indicating both graining of the wood and the degree of difficulty in making the pipe. (Thus a certain sandblast model might be more expensive than a smooth pipe requiring less labor):
CC-CB-CA-BC-BB-BA-AC-AB-AA-C-B-A-A-A1-A2-A3-Ax (where x represents infinity).
Origin
Made in Germany September 1997

This is a perfect small apple that has the added grace of a high grade pipe. The oval shank makes the pipe's appearance delicate. The stem is cut extremely thin for a very comfortable fit.
Condition:
98/100 This pipe has been barely smoked, and still retains the original bowl coating. There is just a wisp of darkening on the inside rim that is only visible upon very close inspection. This pipe has been cleaned, sanitized, and is ready to smoke.
