No. Clay-briar is not a new type of material. These pipes are made from the world's finest briar but were inspired by the old clay shapes. They are beautiful and delicately blasted with a steel tube to reinforce the shank, making much stronger than what they appear to be. This one sports a nice tall bowl on a forward cant, and that lovely, lengthy shank.
